Open Science Week 2024 will take place from 21-23 October 2024. This year's edition will take place entirely online via the Zoom platform. On the agenda is Open Science from the perspective of funders, with a focus on Open Access, Open Data and other Open Science practices. CESNET is a partner of the event.

The biggest Linux event of the year - LinuxDays 2024 - is successfully over. We participated in it together with our partners from IT4Innovations (Ostrava) and CERIT-SC (Brno) as a consortium e-INFRA CZ.

Our colleague Jan Kolouch commented on the topic of cybersecurity for a report by TV NOVA. It concerned a cyber attacker linked to the Russian secret service, which the Czech secret services helped to expose. You can watch the report here.

CESNET representatives presented their MVTP and Ultragrid technologies for audiovisual transmissions at the Network Performing Arts Production Workshop (NPAPW) in Vilnius. At the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Conservatory (LMTA), they also demonstrated their use in practice by connecting musicians playing hundreds of kilometres apart.

On Wednesday 4 September, another CESNET Day took place at Brno University of Technology, attended by nearly forty people from connected organisations and the scientific community. The aim of the event was to meet members of our community in person, to show how and with what our services can help them and to share experiences with each other.
