Update on TCS and certificates

Please be advised that due to unexpected complications on the part of the TCS vendor, it is imperative that all users reissue their server, personal and robot certificates as soon as possible.

What is the situation?
The TCS service is provided by GÉANT, CESNET only provides it. The external certificate provider, Sectigo, has announced that it will terminate the current contract on 10 January 2025, although it is duly paid until the end of April. It is therefore likely that certificates will not be available for application from that date (and possibly earlier). Replacement services may be unavailable for some time as the new tender process is time consuming.

What does this mean for users?
To avoid problems, users are advised to apply for all necessary certificates without delay, thus bridging the period when the TCS service will not be provided. The length of this transition period cannot yet be estimated.
