Basic features

The service provides indisputable temporal information for an object, typically serving as proof that a document existed at a specific time in the past.

Time stamps are issued by the Time-Stamp Authority (TSA) and are signed with a TSA-assigned certificate.

These time stamps can be used by individuals (e.g., integrated into Adobe Acrobat) or by servers (e.g., for signing logs).

  • CESNET operates NTP servers of its own design, providing stable time synchronization with precision in microseconds
  • Time stamps deliver precise, unambiguous time information for specific objects
  • Independent of the CESNET Association

The service is intended for association members and connected organizations that do not have their own timestamp infrastructure.

The service is available at no additional cost to organizations connected to the CESNET e-infrastructure.
