CESNET project receives outstanding award

The project has led to the development of a prototype device that facilitates audiovisual transmissions over computer networks with a minimal added delay of less than 3 ms. It includes high-quality compression and decompression based on the JPEG XS format. This project was a collaboration between CESNET, DISK System, and AV MEDIA.

Devices produced from this project have already been sold to customers across the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Estonia, and Lithuania. They enable real-time remote collaboration in fields where communication delays are critical, such as live culture and education.

In 2022, CESNET’s technology received the Czech Head Award in the Industry category, and in 2020, it won the Europa Nostra / Creative Europe Award for its impact on live cultural collaboration across Europe.
