eduroam

The eduroam.cz, a project led by CESNET, aims to make the network services as easy to use as roaming with mobile operators. The user has a single account (on their home network) that entitles them to use the wireless network of any project member, both in the Czech Republic and worldwide. The project members are mainly research and educational organizations, but the connection is also available to these users in various public spaces in the Czech Republic, such as railway stations.

The idea of enabling users to use connected networks transparently originated within the TERENA Mobility TF. CESNET has been involved in this activity from the very beginning.

CESNET's role is to coordinate and promote activities related to roaming in computer networks, to present our national interests at the European level, and, last but not least, to operate the infrastructure of RADIUS servers necessary for interconnection with the European roaming structure.
